EFY Garage Sale

In January next year there is an Especially For Youth Convention here in Perth. It is quite expensive for the youth at $370 each for 5 days. Craig and I had when we started shifting our house around decided that we should have a garage sale to get rid of some of our stuff. A few weeks later Craig came home from one of his meetings and he had had the idea to still have the garage sale but donate 100% of the money to EFY (wards are responsible for the fundraising for their youth). We then opened it up to people in the ward that if they had stuff they would like to donate too they could.

Last Saturday we had it at our house. Our goal was to raise enough to be able to pay the full amount for 1 youth to be able to attend. At our previous garage sales (we have had a few, we LOVE them!), we have never made more than $200, at this one we raised $410!! How awesome is that! It has also been miserable weather lately and we prayed hard for a nice day and we got it! It only sprinkled a little bit a couple of times during the morning, it was a real blessing...

We also had some sausages, buns and soft drinks that were left over from the youth selling hot dogs outside a hardware shop a few weeks ago but they didn't sell very well (well we only sold 1, so not very well at all haha we ate and drank more than that ourselves!).
